The Liar
I have someone in my life who I care for and they are self destructively insistant on possessing me in some form of relationship when I follow Taoist and Buddhist modalities of non-attachment, wu wei, being substanceless
This person is entirely mechanical and operates as a malfunctioning machine that is broken down because I do not want to be her boyfriend. In tao terms she is purely YANG, she has no friends because she tries to grab all of them and squeeze them to her advantage and everybody leaves her behind, because it is impossible to comply with her selfish desires.
In psychological terms she is narcissistic and possibly bipolar
In taoist terms.. she is the embodiment of everything we try not to be, pure yang, pure hard rock,
She is a systematized form of pure control trying to bend the world around herself instead of going in harmony with it, she cannot understand a word of any philosophy and spins lie after lie after lie, pretends to cry as a form of emotional manipulation, and she never EVER gets what she wants and pushes every single person in her life away.
I have tried to show her the Tao but it is completely absent from her life, even a mention of the word of it
I would really like to help this person but it seems the only option is to cut her out of my life completly, but everybody in her life has done this to her and she repeats the same pattern. How does one make an intervention on such a solid and stone like being where there is no room to enter?
Does anyone have any experiences with this type of person? Do you just let them run until they tire themselves out, and continue not to bend to their demands?
