How do they get the lotto posters out so fast?

Shitpost

Highest Oz lotto jackpot in ages next week. Does anyone know if they do a rush job over night, have a stack of random $$ amounts just lying around, or go print a week advance just in case?

It's quite impressive actually how fast they get them outside shops, at bus stops etc

Yes to the stack of random posters. Used to work in a lotto shop and we kept them all in a roll in a cupboard.

They probably have a stash of all the common ones. Anything else, you can print really quickly on commercial grade printers. After that they have advertising contractors drive round and install them the following day.

I always assume they've got them prepared all ready for amounts we've never even seen before. Wouldn't surprise me if they had it prepared for a $180m+ jackpot just in case.

They can decide at least a week out what the following weeks jackpot will be. Say tonight is $20m, they know if it doesn’t go off next week will be $30m, and can decide tommorow if tonight doesn’t have a winner, the week after next is $40m

They get the deliveries all at once. One poster for each outcome, if the jackpot hits and if it doesnt hit.

The amount of the jackpot increase if it doesn’t go off is kept at a standard rate. They tend to increase by $10M or $20M increments, so they don’t need to worry about irregular jackpot values usually.

As some have already commented, the shop will have a stack of posters. I worked at a newsagency back in the day and we had posters ranging from $2 - $100 mil. The first time we ever had a $120 mil jackpot, Lotterywest couriered posters to us within 48 hours

They raise the jackpot each week by predictable amounts. They actually decide a week in advance what the next jackpot will be if they don’t have a winner in the next weeks draw. So when they hit an all time high, they get the next jump printed up and sent out. Usually it’s about $10m jumps, but after 100m they make larger jumps
