I also thought that I would experience no hair loss. But after around 30 days it started happening. I am almost 2 months now and those hairs that I have lost are still not back. However, I have not lost all transplanted hairs, but I would say like 30% or so.

İn my case my transplanted hairs (%70 of them) keep growing and ı am experiencing %30 shock loss. İt almost double at size from last week. I think they wont fall. My clinic said to me that ı wont lose much hair in shock loss phase. Even they were suprised.

Be patient..

If you went into your HT seeking instant gratification, you might need to revise your expectations.

It is at least a year long process to realize the full results.

It can happen. It means nothing. You're just ahead of everyone else by 3 months. Enjoy the early benefit. And be patient. It'll take a full year to mature the results.

Do you mean shedding? Shedding occurs when the transplanted hairs fall out, as the follicles enter the resting phase. Shock loss occurs to the untouched hair falling out due to trauma.

I'm unsure what you mean by "instant" growth, but my hair (both transplanted and native) grew at their normal rate after my HT. I'm a week away from 4 months post-OP, and have not experienced any shedding.

Not to hijack the OP’s post, but what if the transplanted hairs seem to stay the same length for days? (Meaning doesn’t seem like they are growing.) Since the whole head is shaved the same length, shouldn’t the transplanted hair grow at the same rate? Could this mean the follicles are dead and the short hairs are failed transplants?

Normally they dont grow. Most of them will shed. And grow back in 2 or 3 months. İn my case ı am experiencing it low rate. Which is great

I thought they start growing when they attach and start getting blood supply.

Follicles had trauma due to surgery. They will push the planted hair out of the scalp for new hair.
