[2034] A Tale of Two Andrews
I have completed a memoir entitled "Ingredients", subtitled "A Collection of Stories and Essays About What Goes into Life's Recipe". It is a non-traditional memoir and is not told in any kind of autobiographical sequence, but rather, is told as a collection of stories relating to ten of life's ingredients. These ingredients/chapters include “Family”, “Friends and Acquaintances”, “Work”, “Comedy”, “Tragedy”, “Adventure”, “Romance”, “Charity”, “The Natural World”, and “A Pinch of This and a Dash of That””…all, so to speak, of the ingredients that go into life’s recipe. Each ingredient/chapter has four stories or essays about said ingredient.
"A Tale of Two Andrews" is one of those stories.
If you critique, I would like comment on the mechanics of the writing just like everyone does. However, I also would like to know how you connect with the story. Does it move you? Do you "get" the story...the moral? Can you relate to the point of the story? Does the story make you curious about the next story...or the next ingredient?
And please, don't be afraid to hurt my feelings. I'm not made of glass. I won't break. I've had a belly full of friends and family applauding my effort. I need some real, uninterested third-party critiques before I flatter myself enough to think that what I've written is ready for the effort of composing a book proposal or querying literary agents. Thanks!
