Help on my Application Portfolio

I am applying to an animation program at two schools, and really want my portfolio to stand out. I was wondering if anyone had suggestions of what else I should put in it. I feel like it is lacking something. More life studies, perhaps?

(I put a lot of my character designs/ art in because that is one of my focuses/ interests, which is something the schools encouraged applicants to put in their portfolios)
