5 months today. Nothing spectacular, yet…
I dedicate this post to those who, like me, do not share the sometimes « spectacular » stories of alcohol abuse and recovery that are often shared here, those who, although their drinking left them almost always a bit tired, a bit dehydrated, functioned somewhat normally but grew tired of the empty promises of fun that booze gave. Those who drank for decades socially without ruining their lives, ruining their relationships or losing their jobs. But who felt older that they should despite their healthy routines. The changes at 5 months are nothing to write home about, yet with better sleep, a bit more energy and the subtle pride of succeeding something important I will continue on this sober adventure, and you should do too even if the changes are slower and more subtle then some others.
