Best steps towards getting into the engine room?

Currently almost 5 months in with the new company, little under 2 years at previous company with deck experience. Current company rarely has onboard dedicated engineers so deck crew is responsible for basic engine room work.

Was recently certified to conduct both generator and engine fuel filter swaps.

Curious if there is any online courses or anything that would better help my chances with getting into the engine room for the next hiring season.
