Dice rolling interaction question

Hey. So I was wondering it I have barbarian class and vedalken squirrel whacker on the field at the same time and roll a d6 would I be able to swap the dice number to vedalken squirrel whacker before having to ignore one with barbarian class or would the ignore happen first? Im building an attractions deck and would really appreciate some more experienced players knowledge. Thank you!
