Notes lost on iPad notes app

Thanks for stopping by. Recently I’ve switched AppleIDs on my iPad. In the process, the journal I had kept on my notes app was lost. Realizing this, I quickly switched back AppleIDs back to the one where my journal was kept. The journal was still there, but it only went up to the latest automatic iCloud update (which was two years ago). I contacted Apple support and they told me that there was nothing they can do to restore my data because the up-to-date version of the journal wasn’t on iCloud. It got me thinking, surely the text is stored on my device somewhere, every time I open/close the notes app it would be right there. I’m considering getting a data recovery expert’s help. Any ideas?
