How fast did you fall? And did that make a difference in your marriage?
I knew the night I met by soon-to-be-ex-husband that he was exactly the type of man I wanted to bring home to my family. It was only a few months later that I couldn't imagine my life without him. Pretty much right away I thought he was the perfect man.
Is this healthy though? How frequently does that scenario work out?
In other words, how many of you out there in marriages DIDN'T see wedding bells on day 1? And how long did it take you to get there? Did you have to compromise? How did you get to the point of marriage if you didn't see sparks on day 1?
I fell for my stbxh very hard but he's been absolutely wonderful. Up until a couple months ago he out of the blue took up with another woman and phased me out. He now wants a divorce. Married 5 years. Blindsided totally.
TLDR: is how fast you hear wedding bells upon meeting an indication of how likely your marriage is to succeed?
