Turning my tablet into a trackpad for my pc?

Its an IBall slide 7236 2G, running android 4.2.2

I just wanna be able to control my cursor with the tablet for digital art. Since its running such an old OS, I cant get play store to run on it, cant even sign into my Google account.

So, will i have to somehow update my OS? I dont know jack shit about doing that, but from what little i read about it, it seems for that i need to find a custom ROM for my device with a higher android version, which i cant seem to find. Please correct me if im wrong.
