My in-laws are being threatened by neighbours
The house next door to my in-laws is owned by an organisation that rent out houses to indigenous (Aust) people in need of cheap/free housing. I promise we’re not racist, the previous neighbours have always been lovely and respectful and have had good relationships with them. BUT a couple of months ago new neighbours moved in, the type of people who end up the the show neighbours from hell, the type of people who feel entitled to government handouts, drink and smoke all day, drive like they’re immortal, play loud music into the early hours of the morning and abuse those who asks them to stop (including police). Most of the family have been in jail for violent and robbery offences, in short these are the type of people you do not cross. There have been fights in the street, theft and property damage since they moved in.
Today one of the neighbours came over to my in-laws house, off his face threatening them for hiding some woman that they’ve never met, saying if they don’t give her up, he’ll get them. Apparently this woman jumped the back fence from his property into my in-laws property to get away from him, my in-laws never saw this woman and are not hiding her. My in-laws called the police, last I heard they were still waiting on the police to turn up but I’m not holding my breath that anything will happen because the last time the police turned up to a disturbance at the neighbours they called the police racist, slam the door in their face, and nothing happened. My partner is also now worried for his parents for calling the police because these are the type of people who will attack you for calling the police on them for attacking you.
Worst of all my in-laws are now talking about selling and moving. They’ve worked so hard for this house and now, because of some entitled AHs they’re going to have to sell and likely not get the money that they should get because no one’s going to want to buy and live next door to these people.
