I'm stumped. I create a cylinder

The I try to use the section plan and when I move on an axis, it doesn't show me the inside just a blue box ? What am I doing wrong. sometimes sketchup don't things for me is SO SO SO frustrating.

Any help appreciated. I'm already hating that follow me will not render an outside rounded corner on a profile I made. I still haven't figured out why.
