Does 1 large/dense Dyson Sphere shell blueprint cripple your game?

Help/Question

Just looking for a sanity check here. My game was running perfectly well at 60 FPS. Then I copied the blueprint from the link at the end onto my starting system star at max distance and it amounted to something like ~500,000 cell points If I remember correctly. My FPS went from 60 to 5 instantly and did not show any signs of recovering. Has anyone experienced this before. In this save I have not explored any other of the 63 systems in my cluster, and my home system is a very conservative mid game base (2 science per second). Dark fog is set to maximum difficulty (10.0). In a different save, I have a Dyson Sphere planned that has 3 separate layers that when added up are close to 500,000 cell points as well, and the FPS is still very much playable there. Wondering if it has something to do with it all being on one layer.

Any insights would be greatly appreciated.
