How to set interaction that represents a buckling dome
I have a model where a mechanism is supported by a buckling rubber dome. The mechanism is pressed and the rubber dome buckles under load, until a plug on the dome bottoms out on the ground link and provides support again.
I can simulate the rubber dome being compressed until it buckles.
I can replace the rubber dome with a linear spring in the interaction tab to get a sense of the final force reaction after it buckles.
But when I combine the two models, Abaqus fails to converge.
I want to replace the linear spring’s single stiffness value with a force displacement curve that follows that of the rubber dome. I can’t find the settings on how to do it.
Please help.
