Is goggins a deadbeat dad??
Mods before you remove this, I think it's important to discuss because it really does affect his image in mine and a lot of people's eyes. I just want info from people here to see if there's any silver lining from this situation.
I recently (yesterday) decided I wanted to learn more about goggins. All I'd seen up to that point was some YouTube shorts. I decided to listen to his podcast with huberman. I decided that his Mindset is too much. He takes it too far. There should be balance between fun and discipline. He seems to have issues with validation and a whole lot of trauma. This discipline isn't coming from a place of self actualization, but rather from a lot of pain. Even huberman seems to have detected it. And just from the way goggins was talking it seems to me that he doesn't value the relationships in his life all that much.
So I did a quick Google search something like "David Goggins children" and found info about a daughter that he seems to have abandoned like 20 years ago. This has totally ruined in him in my eyes. For someone who claims to constantly be trying to face all the difficulty and the ugly parts of life, he never tried to overcome his shitty childhood to be there for his daughter? That type of emotional development is more difficult than a thousand marathons. And so unless there's some kind of explanation, I have lost lots of respect for him as a man and will no longer be listening to his advice.
