How do I get plymouth to show up with a unified kernel image?
Title. I use a unified kernel image with mkinitcpio and I use the hardened kernel (if it matters). I want to enable plymouth splash on boot. I followed all the steps I found online and plymouth works, but it doesn't show up by default.
I have my /root and /home as subvolumes of an encrypted btrfs filesystem. So the prompt for that comes up first, but I have to press Escape for the plymouth screen to show. Otherwise it doesn't. I know the plymouth supports entering the encryption password, so ideally I would want to enter the password from the splash screen. Any idea what is going wrong?
/etc/mkinitcpio.conf

# ALL_config="/etc/mkinitcpio.conf"

ALL_microcode=(/boot/*-ucode.img)
PRESETS=('default' 'fallback')
# default_config="/etc/mkinitcpio.conf"

# fallback_config="/etc/mkinitcpio.conf"

Thanks a lot for your help!
Edit:
Forgot to add parameters to /etc/kernel/cmdline. Should have just RTFM
