Having trouble keeping Cyclops charged.

When I arrive at a place where I want to mine, I park my cyclops, turn the engine off, and turn off the lights, then embark in my prawn suit. After a while of mining and gathering materials, I will bring my prawn suit back to my cyclops, and the power in the cyclops is completely gone. What do I need to do to keep this from happening?
