EVGA 1080 TI SC2 running extremely slow
I have recently upgraded from a 1060 6GB to an EVGA 1080TI SC2. My specs are the following:
Motherboard: Asus Rog Strix Z270f Gaming
CPU: Intel Core I7-7700K
RAM: Corsair Vengeance LPX 2x16GB 3200mhz
PSU: be quiet! System Power 10 650W
CPU Cooler: DeepCool GAMMAXX AG400 BK
SSD: Samsung 870 EVO 1TB
HDD: Seagate BarraCuda 4 TB
OS: Windows 10 Pro
GPU: EVGA 1080TI SC2
Screen: BenQ ZOWIE XL2411P 144hz
For example i used to get around 30-40fps with stutters on ultra low settings with my 1060 in The Finals. Now that i upgraded to my 1080ti i expected the fps to go up. But nothing has really changed. Before running a DDU and reinstalling all my drivers i would get around the same fps with the same ultra low settings, now it's shot up to 40-50 on average which is still very low. I did notice less stutters and more smoothness in gameplay though. When i check HWInfo or GPUZ and task manager everything seems normal. My cpu temp never rises above 80. My gpu temp is also in the mids. I tried to check whether one of my drives was faulty and moved the game from drive to drive and it still didn't do anything. Although i have noticed once i have upgraded my gpu my cpu gets used way heavier than before. With the 1080ti my cpu tends too shoot up to 100% more often and quicker and give me freezes when multitasking or tabbing out. In the task manager my cpu gets used in the high 80s to 100 during gaming, while my gpu casually sits at 3-10%. Also i tried running dx11 in certain games which didnt do much. I tried to change DP cables, still didn't do anything. Yes it's plugged into my gpu. I have reset my bios settings, maybe the previous owner changed something. I disables C States which gave me a small boost in performance. Maybe it has something to do with the power utilization of my pc? I plugged my psu cable straight into the wall instead of my preivousextension cable which also helped a little with smoothness of my pc tasks. I could try to reinstall my os but i doubt it would be of any great help since i have done that twice within the last month with my old gpu still. Like i said my guesses are bottleneck, but it seems odd to me in which way it presents itself, i would expect stutters and not low fps. Then there is also power utilization, maybe my cpu or gpu don't get enough power. Compatibility issues with the mainboard? Or maybe some weird settings i have to disable, enable or tweak? Any help would be greatly appreciated.
