Greek mythology

There's loads of references to greek mythology in the game but I was reading about Orphism today which is an ancient sub religion based around the greek gods. Found this that fits well with the game.

undergo teletē, a ritual purification and reliving of the suffering and death of the god.[5] Orphics believed that they would, after death, spend eternity alongside Orpheus and other heroes.

Anyone else have any other examples?
