Help me choose my motherboard!

Build Help

Hi all!

I recently did my first ever build that's intended to be an hybrid of a workstation and a gaming setup, and I originally went with a GIGABYTE Aorus Elite AX motherboard, but it ended up being a faulty one. Two of the DIMM slots suddenly stopped working, CPU kept spiking to 100+ degrees celsius and I ran into constand BSOD's with different errors each time it happened.

I'm now on the lookout for a new motherboard to hopefully get my system up and running, and from the research I've done, Asus seems to be the most reliable option when it comes to motherboards.

I'm not looking to spend more than $400 here, and from the (not so extensive) research I've done, I'm stuck between the ASUS PRIME Z790-P and the ASUS ROG STRIX Z790-F, but I'm more than happy to consider other boards as well!

Specs:

CPU: Intel Core i9-14900K

GPU: GIGABYTE GeForce RTX 4070 Ti GAMING OC V2

RAM: 64GB G.Skill Trident Z5 (2 x 32) @ 6000Mhz

Storage: 2x Kingston KC3000 M.2 2280 NVMe
