Descaling kit

Hello! At my workplace, we have a Nespresso Citiz&Milk coffee machine that is about 4 months old and has a small red LED that flashes. According to the manual, based on the amount of brewed coffee, the machine asks to descale, obviously with the Nespresso descaling package, which is quite expensive. My question is, does it make sense to buy this, or is it just as good using some citric acid? Thank you!
