Weird Wells Fargo call

Just got a call from the Wells Fargo CS number (800 956 4442)

They told me someone tried to open an account in my name and deposit a check from BOA, they also informed me that someone tired to use Zelle and send two different amounts over 1k. They didn’t ask for any identifying info nor did I give any, but I did say the BOA check could be per diem payments.

Caller said they couldn’t give me any info on the zelle recipient and I would need a separate number and case number - seemed like they hung up right after that.

Update: Called into WF and indeed a scam attempt - I guess the scam is they give you another number to call and you call in and that’s where they get you?
