primary school mystery with a bridge and a streetlight

I am not trying to be vague, thats literally most of what i remember and it’s killing me. I probably read it in primary school, maybe a fourth or fifth year level and I feel like it was a mystery type. The main characters were young, I think and I specifically remember a scene with a stone bridge and a streetlight on it. There were two kids. I think there was a motel somehow involved in the book but I have no idea how and they might have been running away or discussing running away.

It’s aura reminds me of a Tangle of Knots a little bit. And maybe a dark blue cover.

And if it is a side story in a Tangle of Knots I will cry but I don’t think it is.
