Possibly a mistake?
I know, can't go back because it's not reversible... but I'm the moment I kinda wish I could. I 6'4 and broad, surgery weight was 287... this was on Monday. To say that I barely qualified for surgery is an understatement (my BMI was 35.1) and if it was true body fat percentage it would be even less than that. Weight loss was not my primary goal with this surgery although 220-230 is my optimum weight, I can lose that weight on my own, I've done it before several times.. but it was always way easier to gain it back. I have high blood pressure(in the summer it was 165/105), moderately high cholesterol levels and I've had 2 great ablations, one for afib in 2015, the other for svt in 2022 (the Dr admitted he may not have gotten this one as they couldn't trigger the svt during surgery). So the decision to get this surgery at 38 solely was based on prolonging my life by getting the weight down and in return reducing blood pressure, cholesterol, and arrhythmias. And by having a hard time overheating I wouldn't gain it all back.. one of my biggest fears before surgery was preop and postop diet. It's not fun but I can do it, the issue is my heart does not like this kinds of diets, especially low carb or keto.i get palpitations quite a bit and sometimes bouts of svt. So I was hoping I could get through postop by drinking, with body armor lyte, about 70 carbs a day, my surgeon agreed... well, the carbs must not be the same as regular food because it didn't work. Got the surgery Monday, released Tuesday, Wednesday night got hit with a SVT attack that lasted 8.5 hours at 140bpm...miserable night. No energy at all today. I'm in stage 1 (protein drinks and body armor type drinks for carbs) until the 23rd... insanely far. I got in touch with both my cardiologist and my surgeon today and the surgeon said maybe the anesthesia triggered svt but she not worried since it converted back to sinus rhythm, cardiologist basically said take it more fluids and ride it out.i mean I drink all day long and I was able to drink 77 ounces yesterday so I'm not dehydrated, no stomach pain other than incision pain but I feel pretty bad. Can someone please tell me if they've experienced similar situations and if it goes away after phase 1? Desperate for some acknowledgement here.. the Dr's aren't worried about it but I am
