Should I take geometry over the summer?

Hi. I am a 7th grader, currently in alg 1 hn. I have the option of taking geometry over the summer, so that I could take alg 2 in 8th grade.

Is this a good idea? Does it even matter on college applications, etc?

I’m doing decently in alg 1, I had a 90.2 in the first quarter, 99.3 in this quarter. While my grades aren’t bad, I think taking geometry over just 5 weeks might be too much for me. I’m afraid I’ll do badly and end up taking geometry next year anyway.

What should I do?
