Frist SvS on a new server (specific advice requested - see below)
This is my first time playing Evony, and I'm the primary Monster Hunter for my Alliance. I'm mostly f2p, but because I'm a disabled, semi-shut-in, my playtime is very high, and I've been able to grind out a lot.
Right now I'm K35 and just above 550M power. However, I've been laser-focused on my Monster Hunting role, and I've not really prepared too much for PvP.
I have saved up a stockpile of resources (about 6B of each), and I've narrowed my options to two, but I'm prepared to rethink that.
I can continue to leverage my substantial advantages in Mounted development to focus on Mounted PvP, but I realize that's considered to be at a disadvantage.
Or, I can rush my Archery Camp to 35th, crank out plenty of Ranged, and get my Elektra somewhat developed (one red star, first specialty at Max, lv10 Celtic Demon, etc.), so I can at least have a shot at Ranged PvP.
But even if I get all of those things done, she'll either be in Achaemenidae gear with no refinements or mix of Ach and Dragon gear with few if any decent ranged refinements.
If I stick with Mounted, then I would have a 3 Red Star Martinus with first specialty maxed and 2nd and 3rd at GM. He'd have full Ach gear with decent refinements, and my mounted Blazons are strong and most research is maxed.
I guess the question comes down to: Is mounted PvP at so much of a disadvantage that I'm still better off half-assing it with Elektra and keeping my T14 Cav ghosted?
Our server's first SvS is coming up in a week or two, I think, and right now I'm the 8th highest ranked on my server (just in terms of Monarch Power Ranking), and the ones ahead of me are all heavy coiners.
Thanks for any insight and please let me know if you have questions.
