Would I like Alan Wake 2 if I disliked Alan Wake 1?

Quick question... I see all the awards AW2 has gotten, so I'm tempted to give it a go.

I'm a sucker for stories. If the game doesn't have a story, I'm not playing it.
So the only games I play, are games like Uncharted, Last Of Us, Spider-man and games alike.

I played the original Alan Wake game back when it came out. I remember how I really liked the story, but I didn't like the gameplay. I wasn't a fan of the whole flashlight, shooting, and overall controls of the game. Wish it was more of a detective game, like Sherlock Holmes. I can remember how I was like "meeeeh... here we go again.. ok let me just get through this fucking forest so I can continue the story". I really dreadded the gameplay, but really enjoyed the story.

Will I feel the same about Alan Wake 2? I'm sure I would enjoy the story, I just can't stand to spend hours with gameplay and controls like the first game. If that's the case, I'd rather do a playthrough.
