NYC Hourly Rate

Hi I graduated last year and I’ve been working in tech full time for over a year now. But before I got hired, I was freelancing for a studio in NYC. It was my first studio client and I set my rate to $25/hr for doing fairly easy web design work.

We had a great time working together and they even referred me to other clients which was amazing! However, I got so busy with other projects that I stopped working with them late last year.

They reached out to me again today to ask if I’m free and I’m thinking of asking if I could raise my hourly rate to $50/hr as this is what I charged another studio client. Should I ask or I just settle with my original rate? Would love to hear your experiences and thoughts.
