[Java] 1.20.4 Can you run a server with optifine and minimap concurrently?

Hey,

a friend is running a server for me on the current 12.0.4 Java version of Minecraft and I'd like to know if there's a way to get optifine to run simultaneously with a mini map mod.
I've tried having both installed as server mods, as mods in my own minecraft client and one each but nothing seems to work.
Are they maybe not compatible with each other at all, or not compatible on the current version?
I tried it with the journeymap and with Xaero's Minimap.
The Forge version of the server is 49.0.19 (mc 12.0.4).

I've been sitting on this way too long, so I'd be very grateful to just know if it works or not.
