Hit a wall - advice for overcoming?

Hey guys,

I have been riding out a two year contract with my current school - contract ends in August. I’ve struggled with cognitive dissonance at work from the start… and it’s just gotten exponentially worse throughout my time here. I don’t agree with any of the decisions made.

I’ve spoken up and provided evidence to back up my points - but leadership seem to think they know better than the experts and all the science-backed research in the field of education. I’ve tried just doing it my own way and been penalised. I’ve tried to do it their way and just not care…

But I feel like I’m unlearning everything I learnt which made me a great teacher prior to joining this school. I’ve hit my limit with the amount of shockingly out-of-touch decisions, unnecessary pressure, constant observations, irrelevant admin tasks and last minute deadlines thrown at us. I’ve never been so demotivated in my life.

So my question is: Is there a way to overcome this feeling rather than just quit? It’s not long until August… but I am finding myself feeling increasingly apathetic towards the job and I’m no longer keeping up with tasks and deadlines.

Has anyone ever found themselves in this slump? Is there light at the end of the tunnel? Please let me know what advice you might have to find motivation or if I just need to call it a day.

TLDR: Lost all motivation to continue working at current school, how to overcome?
