Not Feeling Rested After Sleeping & Using CPAP after significant lifestyle change.

Hello,

I am reaching out to see if anyone else has experienced this issue after lifestyle changes and CPAP.

I used to be 50 lbs. overweight, drank liquor before bed each night, 2 packs of cigarettes a day, extremely high blood pressure and totally out of shape at the time. The doctor said I had sleep apnea and I had to stop drinking. I highly doubted the liquor had anything to do with it but I listened as my overall sleep sucked every night and I felt terrible each morning. They also recommended losing wight and stop smoking.

I have been on CPAP for a year and took the doctor's advice and haven't drunk in a year, my weight is back to normal, I also workout 3 to 4 times a week and still dieting. Down to a half a pack of cigarettes a day so there has been a drastic change since starting CPAP therapy.

The Problem

During the first few months of CPAP treatment, I slept like a baby waking up feeling like a champion but as my health improved and the weight is gone (+ liquor), I haven't slept in a couple months while using the machine. My Garmin says I am not getting REM, or DEEP sleep with extremely high stress levels all night starting when the machine ramps up. It is set on Auto pressure, and my AI is normally at 1.2 each night.

Has anyone else had sleep issues after changing their lifestyle once starting therapy? Anything helps!
