Rx refusal of risk- alternative to protest.

I'll start by saying I enjoy my job, I have mixed feelings about effectiveness of some Rx programs but still enjoy delivering a useful product to the forest and communities. I do believe we should continue burning and to refine these programs and techniques to deliver more effectiveness with less risk and cost.

Rx is a planned event, not an emergency. An idea I had was that could be our only possible avenue for boots to really apply pressure. We know right to strike and right to protest are protected under the National Labor Rights Act (1935) but applies to everyone except Federal Employees.

So what if someone crafted a well worded Refusal of Risk for Rx and we all signed it? Hazard pay and/or higher pay could be stated as a mitigation for the risk. I know myself and dudes I work with only occasionally get major noticable respiratory irritation from wildland fire that occurs with the unstable atmosphere in the summer but often have days of recovery after sucking smoke while burning in the winter. It's caused issues and/or serious complications to minor infections for some folks.

Possibly the form is given time to be distributed with a target date to submit, that way we have solidarity of doing it as an entire workforce. I don't claim to know much, there's some sharp folks on here and I'll leave it to ya'll to poke holes in my idea or contribute to it's success. Thank You.
