Medication First Time

Hello!

Looking for advice for possible first time medication for my son. He is 8 years old and in second grade. He has Level 1 ASD in addition to ADHD. He is in a mainstream classroom and is very, very smart. He however struggles with impulsivity, staying on task, multiple steps directions, and demand avoidance. His ASD symptoms have been waning for a few years now and his ADHD symptoms have risen and are really the core of what he struggles with now. My husband and I both have ADHD but never have been on medication.

His doctor is recommending a combination of Focalin and 1 MG of Intuniv?
