When you have to adapt, improvise and overcome.
I am curious as to your strategy when you need to apply this unofficial motto of the U.S. Marines to your coffee making.
I love a good cup but there are limits to how far I will go to have one. If I am in the middle of nowhere, or stuck in an airport, etc. I always travel with packets of a “better than our parents had” packet of instant (I prefer Alpine Start for taste and affordability).
However, I have frequently found myself in someone’s home, like my in-laws, where they everything for a pour over, minus a scale. Have any of you ever adapted your recipe converting the water and beans/grounds to teaspoons and cups (for those in the Imperial System loving States).
Obviously it is far from an exact science but sometimes, as the axiom of economists goes, there are no solutions, only trade offs.
