Switching from VMs to Containers
Hi all,
I have customers for whom I am looking to replace their current Hyper-V/VMware clusters with something more container-oriented. Planning to migrate most services from VMs to containers while still maintaining VMs for some services.
OpenShift is something that I am aware of. The biggest problem with OpenShift is that their implementation of VMs is weird (for me, at least). I never run VMs through Kubevirt, which OpenShit uses under the hood, so this would be something new to me. Do you have any experience with running VMs on OpenShift, or am I simply overthinking?
Proxmox is another option, but support for customers who are not EU-based is a humiliation.
Or maybe there are better solutions (budget-friendly) that I am simply missing?
P.S. I stumbled upon SUSE Harvester. First, I didn't hear anything negative about SUSE, and reading their documentation, it seems like a good solution. However, I don't see much conversation about Harvester. Has anyone here tried it and has something to share?
