Why does it feel so good to rub your feet on rough materials like the coilmats of cars?

Perhaps this is just a me thing, so it might be a very stupid question, but why does it feel so good to rub your feet on material the mats in cars that are made of stuff that are sort of coil like. Other materials it feels good to rub with are astroturf or a brush or even grass.

I assume it's just the same reason people like foot rubs, but since there is more surface area it's like a super rub, but what's the reason for it? And is there any product I can get that can simulate this so I can just rub my feet in bed lmao
