Anyone else still infantilized even as a legal adult?

It was my 18th birthday recently, so my mother gave me £50 to spend. So I went to the shopping center, except my mother had to follow me everywhere and pay for things on my behalf (she wouldn't even give me the money, let me pay for the items for myself, and then give her the receipt and change back). I also wasn't allowed energy drinks either.
