My ex just had a baby with her

My (23F) ex (24M) just welcomed a baby with the girl (27F) he cheated on me with and left me for (side note she was literally married at the time but anyway).

It’s been nearly 2 years since he broke up with me and after a lot of therapy, reflection and healing, I can honestly say I am happy and have moved on. However, I still stand firm in that our relationship was incredibly loving, healthy and “on the right track”. I still consider myself to have been blindsided by our breakup.

I know from friends that she was supposed to be infertile, and decided to keep this baby against my ex’s wishes (at least at the initial stage of finding out anyway). My ex was terrified of having a baby before 35, as he wanted to live his 20s and travel etc.

I got sent a photo of him holding his newborn baby. And it literally made me gasp. It was harrowing. In less than 2 years, he has appeared to have aged by 15 years. His eyes sunken and dark, his face so skinny, hairline receded… he was smiling holding the baby, but it looked like such a plastered on, fake smile. You know how they say you smile with your eyes if it’s genuine? His eyes were hollow. Smile barely putting a crease on his face. I put a side by side comparison to a photo I had of him, and it was shocking. It looked like two different people. He no longer looked like the loving, happy person I once knew… he looked like a shell…

Anyway. Thank you for reading. I just had to put my thoughts somewhere, as I have genuinely been taken aback by how much he’s changed…
