AITA - Preferring quality time with GF over family

Me and my GF have a great relationship. I also have a good relationship with my family. We both work 40 hours a week so only time we can spend together is the evenings and weekends.

Thus, we really love spending whole weekends just with the two of us. I have a decently sized family and basically every weekend there is some activity or get together we can attend or are asked to attend (Dinners with Dads family or my mom, visits to one of our grandparents, birthdays, baby showers etc.) Its never forced upon us and the family seems to understand we are kinda introverted and just love to spend our time together. But everytime I have to say “no” to my family I feel a bit guilty or bad.

We still attend stuff regularly but some other family members are always attending while we only maybe attend once a month at most.

Once again there are no hard feelings here but I just want to gauge some opinions on this. Does it make me an asshole preferring to spend our limited time together instead of visiting family and being social for whole afternoons?

We do give grandma’s priority in our visits tho.
