Does Message Sync actually work for anyone?

I've used messages for web using the Fi sync option ever since it was released and it's always been hot garbage for me. A few examples:

• Messages that I send from the browser don't appear on my device for hours or days, and vice versa
• The order of conversation threads in the browser is wrong
• When I pick up a call on my phone it continues to ring on the browser forever.
• RCS is not supported (I know this is expected, but the lack of support is ridiculous given Google's stance on Apple iMessage vs RCS)

I assumed these were teething problems when it was first released, but it's never improved. Does anyone find this service actually works as intended for them? I finally got fed up and disabled sync and went back to the QR code version, which works exactly as I expect.
