21M, Student Abroad and Need Financial Advice Please
Hi everyone, I’m a student in the US and get a monthly allowance. I have an idea and I’m wondering if I should exchange some of my US dollars savings for Malaysian Ringgit (MYR) and invest in ASNB, as the exchange rate is RM4.71 for 1 USD now. For now, Im just keeping my savings in the US bank and they aren’t growing much at the moment. If you were in my position, would you make the exchange and invest in ASNB? Note that, I’m planning to keep some money aside for emergencies, so I won’t be moving all of it.
I’ve heard the Malaysian economy might get stronger, which could make the MYR go up in value. So, maybe it’s a good idea to do this while the MYR is still low. But I’m also thinking, if I keep my money in USD, it might be worth more later when I take it back to Malaysia.
I’d really appreciate your thoughts and advice on this. Thanks a lot!
