Free Roam on stay back CM?

So I'm playing with 2 CMs. Oberdorf TOTY and Zidane. I have Zidane on Free Roam and balanced support, Oberdorf on Stick to Position and stay back.

Ideally I'd like Oberdorf to use her defensive AI to roam around getting into good positions and winning the ball back in front of the back 4 rather than sticking to her position in right CM. If I put her on free roam will she do that or will she try to join the attack like Zidane does? How does free roam work on stay back CMs generally?
