"No commercial use"... Question?
I provide modding and repair services for old consoles and recently acquired a 3D printer for my workshop.
Several designs I have found on printables and thingiverse would make great additions to some of these projects but the "no commercial use" clause is not clear in one area to me... I totally get that means I cant print these out and sell them / make profit... but can I print and install them in customers devices free of charge without running into issues or violating those terms?
Keep in mind, the value of these 3D prints are not in any way factored into the money I make off my services, at all. Its simply a bonus service I offer as a thanks for having me do the other work I do (soldering, etc) and way to offer a nice clean finish on some projects. I eat the cost of running the printer and the filament because in the grand scheme its just a nice bonus to offer and I make my money on the other services. Im not concerned with the pennies/dollars of PLA filament im using for it honestly, its a drop in the bucket
That being said, I want to do the right thing so just asking here, hope this is an appropriate question for this subreddit. thanks!
