Looking to reenlist, need to know if I need a waiver

My situation is far from unique, but it seems recruiters have some major problems with it. The recruiter I had spoken to as of late said he would look into it, and has not returned any of the last 3 emails I had sent him. These were separated a week apart each time, as I know they are busy people.

I was in the National Guard, and want to reenlist into it.

I completed BCT, but was a 09S (Officer Candidate) and withdrew from OCS (long story why) and did not ship to Infantry School before my 2 year deadline, so I received a general discharge. I never received a DD214, or anything similar to it. So I have no clue what my official discharge code is, or whether or not I need a waiver to reenlist.

Anyone have some information they can throw at me, so when I go to the recruiters office tomorrow, I can get the ball moving?

Contact HRC. You have a DD214, and it will contain your reenlistment code.

I have access to login to HRC (contractor), and no DD214 was ever uploaded to my records. Also, I even contacted the national records people, and they said usually when a soldier doesn't complete AIT they don't issue a DD214.

That's crap. I know a few guys that have gotten out in BCT/AIT for a number of reasons and they all have 214s.

What this guy said. Everyone discharged from active duty get them. NG Soldiers may get a couple depending on if and when they went on active duty and for how long.

You'll also need it for your records when you apply for jobs, etc..

I was close to your situation but I fought tooth and nail to stay in.

You might want to also get your NGB-22 from your state office. It's a DD214 for the state.

I didn't know an NGB-22 even existed, thanks! Would my recruiter have access to pull that up, or would I have to request it from the state office?

State.Get it for your records too.
