cheap way to go about inverting pedals
I want to invert my clutch and brake pedal and keep my throttle floor mounted. So starts a journey of trying to invert my pedals with what i got.
What I got: Simlabs gt1, simjack pro pedals, Heusinkveld sprint pedal plates
Thought:
- mount the simlabs pedal plate on an angle on the base mount vertical columns and the pedal plate mount shorty columns
- invert mount the brake and clutch pedals
- mount the HE sprint pedal plate on couple 40/40 profiles, mount the throttle on it.
Good idea, but in execution there were issues:
- the simlabs pedal plate has a little lip with the lasercut simlabs logo which doesnt clear the simjack pro brake pedals with the mounting points when installed underneath.
- When i flip the pedal plate upside down to avoid this lip, the pedals come down too low.
- HE sprint pedal plate is a bit too narrow for my taste
- HE sprint pedal plate doesnt allow me to mount the simjack pro throttle securely enough..
- overall HE Sprint pedal plate is just a bit too small all around to make it nice...
Next Steps
- Return the HE Sprint pedal plate
- Order the universal pedal plate from Trakracer and use this as the top mount for brake and clutch pedal
- Use the simlabs pedal plate as the bottom mount for the throttle pedal.
I think this way, my cost to invert the pedal would only be the cost of the Trak Racer pedal plate which is $82. Cheaper than any products out there for inverting pedals, and surely easier than making a woodenbox and maybe still cheaper, and definitely wayyy more ridgid.
Ill update when I get my Trak Racer pedal plate.
Pics for reference.
