28AM in VA struggling with dating; tips and commiseration welcome
Throwaway account.
I'm feeling a little down that I won't ever find what I'm looking for, and not sure how I'm going to find it. Hoping someone here will have some good advice for me.
About me:
- Location: Richmond, VA
- Stats: 5'4". Very lean, fit, 6-7/10 on a good day.
- Looking for: serious relationship. Ideally someone smart, doesn't want kids, has a great life and career.
- OD Stats: 2 years of usage on hinge/bumble. swiped until no more people left. 1-2 matches a month (ghosted by 100%), zero dates.
- (inb4 "your pix must suck, lol": pretty sure no, this profile has been vetted by many women. but will provide a link if people really think it's the problem)
- Considered moving: Yes, to DC. But I would give up an extremely ideal living situation and a lot of professional opportunities.
Don't put much stock into dating checkboxes, but I do check a lot of them. for your consideration:
- Green flags
- top 5% earner. really high status schools/career. regular traveler. gets along with the fam.
- very fit. lots of friends/hobbies. lots of women friends. good cook. lots of leisure time.
- Red flags
- doesn't want kids. agnostic. short. asian-american.
As a closing note, I just want to say. My life is genuinely fantastic in every other way besides the dating stuff. My friends tell me I'm a catch, and don't understand why I haven't had any luck.
I think that, when you get down to brass tacks, I'm just a 6-7/10, and I'm asian. People admire my life but don't see themselves as romantically a part of it, and I don't really know what to do about that ¯\_(ツ)_/¯
