The Voyage

In the second to last berth, echoing Columbus' bold quest, We set sail on our journey, hearts pounding, unrest. With dreams as our lodestar, and laughter our true north, But soon, our venture faced tempests, winds veering forth.

As we mapped our course, like vessels adrift, The joy we once cherished began to rift. Beneath calm waters, tensions churned and spun, In that second to last berth, where unity came undone.

What commenced as a sonnet of camaraderie, bright, Succumbed to shadows, swallowing light. In that second to last berth, where strife amassed, Our once-bound bonds shattered, like fragile glass.

No guideposts to follow, no stars to align, Our fellowship faltered, as destinies declined. In that second to last berth, our journey met its strife, Where dreams met reality, in the theatre of life.

As we reach journey's end, farewells bid askew, From that second to last berth, where emotions ensue. A chapter closes, lessons learned in turn, In the wake of our voyage, bridges may burn.
