Church guy friend

Guys how would you feel if a girl from church actively pursues or shows interest in you? Side note; you've been friends with her 10+ years

I have a friend from church and Honestly there was a period where I liked him for almost 2 years consistently which is crazy and it's been on and off for longer...I'll want him and I wont... I was even extremely happy for him when he "almost" had a gf but it never worked out...I'm always happy for him. Anyway the feelings started when I was 22 and I'm 26 now, he's 27

I have no idea what to do because I've been neutral for a while now I'm not. Yesterday his friend jokingly said " you should date him" should I read into it? Or should I wait...sometimes I wonder if I am making the right decision to ask him... esp at our age
