bot lobbies stopped?

sorry if it's been asked, I've scrolled and can't see anything!

so, we know people do it, joint a level 1 account to get a bot lobby... sometimes you don't wanna play properly, you just wanna do your quests and dip (which are hard in normal matches bcus everyone else is trying to do them too). but out of nowhere the level one account was awarded stars and a level up. I got my little brother to try too (he hasn't touched his account for a year) and it did the same to him, just auto-levelled him up. is this so people can't play in bot lobbies?
